Moshi iGlaze Luxe & Napa Review – Make your iPhone fancy

Today we’re going review Moshi’s iGlaze Napa and Luxe cases. These cases are a little fancier than your average iPhone case as the Napa is covered in premium vegan leather and the Luxe is an aluminum metal bumper case. Both of these cases are a little thicker than the average slim case. The Napa is fairly straightforward in terms of design whereas the Luxe is a little more complicated. Both cases offer great access to your iPhone.

For our Moshi iGlaze Luxe & Napa Review, we’ve given them the Napa a score of 4.2 Eh’s out of 5 and the iGlaze Luxe a score of 4 Eh’s out of 5. These cases are comparable to Moshi’s regular iGlaze and iGlaze armor though we still prefer the regular Moshi iGlaze out of all these cases. The biggest difference between these cases is that the regular iGlaze’s are slimmer whereas the Napa and Luxe versions are bigger but tougher.

Design – Fancy!

In terms of design, both of the iGlaze Napa and Luxe cases are a little thicker than your average slim iPhone case. The Napa is easy to install whereas the Luxe is probably the most complicated slim case we’ve ever used because there’s a removable back, two aluminum pieces and a TPU bumper. Installing the case requires to squeeze and pull things apart, the unattached back will come loose but once everything is snapped together, the Luxe feels quite nice.

Both of these cases spent a couple of weeks in Aaron’s wife’s purse and surprisingly, the Napa case doesn’t have any scratches on the back. Both cases seem to wear well over time if you’re gentle with your iPhone.

Protection – Not drop-rated but the corners of the case can take a drop

In terms of protection, the Napa isn’t drop-rated but it does have multiple layers with the first layer being a shatter proof casing and the second layer, a shock absorbing inner-shell. The Luxe is drop-rated to 4ft, has multiple layers with the first being an aluminum frame and the second layer being the TPU center. If you’re worried about your bending you iPhone, the aluminum frame on the Luxe will provide decent bend protection.

Both of these cases have decent edges to them though if you use a thicker screen protector like the iVisor glass, the edges get shallow pretty quickly but placing the iPhone facedown will still keep the screen protector off the surface.

There is a cutout on the back of the Napa which may increase the chances of dust and debris getting to your iPhone.

Functionality – Great access to your iPhone inside the case

Accessing your iPhone is actually better in the Napa then the Luxe. We found that the button access on the Luxe a little tougher to do as you had to go through the metal frame and TPU where as the Napa only has one layer to go through. Both cases have large cutouts for 3rd party accessories and there are no issues when it comes to accessing your iPhone’s touchscreen.

Before we end this review, we do want to add that Moshi has something called the Ion battery case which is compatible with the Napa version of the case. We haven’t reviewed it but it looks like a neat battery accessory that slides on the back of the case. The modularity of the battery back allows you to keep your iPhone slim and bulks it up in a reasonable manner if you need the spare power.

Again, we gave the Moshi iGlaze Napa iPhone 6 case a score of 4.2 Eh’s out of 5, the iGlaze Luxe a score of 4 Eh’s out of 5. Please ask them on our Google+ page or our Facebook page or our About Us page.
