An ingenious way to turn a regular socket into a USB charger (without losing a socket!)

The SnapPower Charger will almost remove the need to track of all the annoying little chargers for your mobile devices.
What makes the SnapPower Charger so attractive is the fact that you can easily install the charger without having to do any wiring which is perfect for Aaron since he’s pretty awful with tools. The unit comes in three different colors and is compatible with both duplex and decor style plates.
There is one downside to this product which we will elaborate below in the functionality section. For our SnapPower Review, we’re giving this product two thumbs up because of its usefulness and innovative method of connecting to existing outlets.

Design – Simple, elegant but it might not match your paint?
As you can see on the back of the charger, there are two pieces that stick out that have metal strips on them. These metal strips make contact with an outlets external screws providing current for the USB charger.
Installation of the USB electrical outlet requires you to slide the unit over the outlet which means any simpleton should be able to do this as long as they figure out how not to stab themselves with a screwdriver.

Functionality – Works great for smaller devices, not so much bigger ones?
In terms of functionality, to use the SnapPower Charger, all you have to do is plug in a USB cable into the USB outlet once its installed. The only downside that we’ve discovered with this product is the fact that this current model only provides 1 Amp worth of charging which is fine for smartphones (iPhone chargers are 1.2 Amps) but larger devices like iPads will take much longer to charge (they come with 2.1 Amp chargers).
So you have to ask yourself: Is it worth freeing up a socket and let my larger devices charger a little longer? We’re guessing that most of you will want the free socket but for those who are a little impatient (like Aaron), there’s a chance that you’re still going to have to keep a couple of 2.1 Amp chargers laying around. As we mentioned above, you can almost get rid of all your chargers.
