iPhone 6(s+) Plus Screen Protectors

Spigen Flex HD Review – iPhone 6(s+)

A super thin screen protector that might work with waterproof iPhone cases

(Scroll down for the written review)

Spigen Flex HD Review – It’s a “wet” screen protector (What does that even mean?)

Today we’re going to do a review of the Spigen plastic screen protector. This is an incredibly thin screen protector made from Thermoplastic Urethane and is one of the few screen protectors that we might even consider using in conjunction with a waterproof iPhone case.

The Flex HD can heal small scratches and is quite re-usable. We’re not terribly impressed with the fit of the screen protector, and the installation process is wet which makes it…interesting.

For our Spigen Flex HD Review, we’ve given it a score of 3.9 Eh’s out of 5. This is one of the better plastic screen protectors that we’ve reviewed and given that you get 2 in each package, makes it a little more attractive. Design – Thin. And yes, it comes with a spray bottle

SpigenFlexHD - Wet Install

This is one of the thinnest screen protectors that we’ve seen which is the only good thing about this product. Application of the screen protector requires you to spray the back of a screen protector with water which is a first for us. The initial bubbling does go away, but the screen protector doesn’t sit completely smooth which takes away from the iPhone. The initial install will result in bubbling which can be taken care off using the included squeegee, but it won’t get them all.

Removing the screen protector is simple as you peel it back like a sticker. We were able to store the screen protector easily and were surprised that the screen protector didn’t get stretched out.

Regarding fit, despite being marketed as a full coverage screen protector, the Flex HD extends only slightly past the curve of the iPhone. The edges don’t completely stick, so it looks like its going to peel which takes away from the look of the iPhone.

Protection – It heals itself from small scratches

For protection, the Flex HD will heal itself which prolongs its usability though the long term viewability of the screen protector will suffer over time as scratches won’t go away 100%.

Functionality – No issues here

SpigenFlexHD - Corner peels

In terms of functionality, the wet application of the screen protector ensures that there is absolutely no sensitivity loss though the plastic has a bit more friction, so your screen doesn’t feel as smooth. Fingerprinting isn’t a big problem, but it does collect over time though I’m pretty sure I’m complaining about the fingerprinting because the last screen protector I reviewed was the amazing ITG by Patchworks.

Now at the beginning of the review, we mentioned that this was one of the few screen protectors that might work with a waterproof case due to the thickness of the screen protector. We wouldn’t use this with a LifeProof Nuud or Fre but with an Optrix XD6 or HitCase Pro due to the design of the cases.

With that being said, our first recommendation is to stay away using a screen protector with a waterproof case but if you need one, the Spigen Flex HD might work.

Again, for our Spigen Flex HD Review , we gave this glass screen protector a score of 3.9 Eh’s out of 5. Have questions? Please ask them on our Google+ page or our Facebook page or our About Us page.
