Spigen Thin Fit 360 Review – Finally. We found the best ultra-thin case for the iPhone 7!

*For this review, we consider the Thin Fit 360 and Air Fit 360 to be the same case because the only difference is the coating and color on the products, which we cover below.

In our opinion, this black Thin Fit 360 is the best, non-drop-rated case that we’ve used so far. Why? Because it offers the best texture of any case we’ve reviewed, it covers the entire iPhone and comes with two glass screen protectors (Yes! TWO).

If you’re looking for a case to supplement your LifeProof Nuud, you need to seriously consider the Thin Fit 360. This case isn’t perfect as  we do have two gripes with the Thin Fit 360. Our first gripe deals with the Control Center access on our iPhone and the second the handling between the white and black versions of the Thin Fit 360.

Spigen Air Fit 360 and Thin Fit 360 Review Table - iPhone 7For our Spigen Thin Fit 360 review, we’ve given this case a score of 4.2 Eh’s out of 5. It is currently #1 on our ultra-thin/minimalist iPhone 7 case list. It beats out the Caudabe Sheath, Incipio Octane and the Pitaka case, though the Pitaka is way cooler. Design – Thin, functional and easy to handle

Soft rubber coating - Spigen Thin Fit 360 iPhone 7 Review.JPGIn terms of design, the Thin Fit 360 is a simple case that snaps together. This case will add very little bulk to your iPhone but still has enough space to allow you to add a magnet for use with a mag mount.

Fits incredibly well - Spigen Thin Fit 360 iPhone 7 ReviewThe case fits well together but it may come apart during a drop. We’re not too worried about the iPhone corners taking damage during a fall where the case comes apart. Why? The front panel of the iPhone actually wraps around each corner so it provides a bit more protection.

The black version of the Thin Fit 360 won’t slide around easily as the case has a soft-rubber coating to it. The lighter coloured versions are glossy and will slide around like a buttered hardboiled egg. The coatings on both cases will show fingerprints easier than other cases.

Thin Fit 360 and the Air Skin are the same - Spigen Thin Fit 360 iPhone 7 ReviewWhen it comes to handling, we personally prefer the soft-rubber coated version (the black one in the video/photos). The texture greatly reduces the chance that the iPhone is going to slip out of your hand or fingers. The glossy version doesn’t handle as well but the glossy coating does a decent job keeping the iPhone in your palm.

Protection – Is it really 360 degrees?

When it comes to protection, we do have to poke fun at Spigen as they use of the term “360” seems to imply protection against everything in life but in reality, the 360 represents how much of your iPhone is actually covered, not protected.

Corner protection - Spigen Thin Fit 360 iPhone 7 ReviewAnd really, the entire iPhone isn’t covered up as the cameras, TouchID, Lightning Port and speaker grills aren’t covered up. BUT from our perspective, the Thin Fit 360 is going to protect your iPhone from getting scratched for most accidental, waist high drops but we wouldn’t go out of our way to drop it on concrete.

For screen protector, the two included screen protectors only cover the touchable area of the iPhone. This is below average when compared to other screen protectors but this only matters if you decide to use the screen protector with a different case. The size of this screen protector makes it a perfect companion for the LifeProof Nuud. If you are going this route, we’d recommend installing the screen protector with the Nuud on it to make sure you don’t mess with the waterproof seal.

Functionality – The screen protector “gets” in the way

We didn’t have any issues accessing the buttons through the Thin Fit 360. The port cutout is large enough for 3rd party cables and the camera lens is raised to prevent unnecessary flat surface contact.

Our only gripe is that the sensitivity of the screen has changed a bit. This is very noticeable if you’re just using the iPhone with the screen protector and not the rest of the case. The screen protector itself doesn’t reduces the sensitivity, it’s the edge gets in the way of swiping. During our review period, we found that it took a couple of tries to get to the Control Center. Going from a normal case to the Thin Fit 360 will require you to swipe a bit harder to access the Control Center.

This isn’t going to be a deal breaker for most people but it will be noticeable for people who use the Control Center with their HomeKit devices.

QMNP Magnet mount - Spigen Thin Fit 360 iPhone 7 ReviewThe last thing we’ll talk about is the magnetic mount attachment. The Thin Fit 360 has a place for you to attach one of Spigen’s QNMP mounts which adds to the functionality of this thin iPhone case. This is great as we prefer magnetic mounts over other types of mounts.
