Need a wallet friendly iPhone 8 case? Here's what you need!
The Best iPhone 8/7 cases under $15 dollars
Most of the time a $40 dollar case does not do much than a $ 15 dollar case, But with your $1000 iPhone you can never be too sure. The trick here is to know what case will get the most out of your buck and the safety your $ 1000 iPhone deserves.
From our perspective, when it comes to budget iPhone cases, there are companies that produce extremely cheap cases and sell them at a low price. We don’t like them. We like companies who produce decent products who sell them at affordable prices. These products may not look as polished as an expensive case but at the end of day, will do the same job of protecting your iPhone.
Top 10 Budget iPhone 8 and iPhone 7 Cases
This list is going to change frequently. We’ll add/remove cases if we feel that there are more worthy cases to put on the list. One of the things we do want to point out is that these budget-friendly cases may not offer much protection for your $1000 dollar iPhone.
If you are serious about protecting your iPhone, do consider getting a tougher case.
#1 - Silk Innovation BaseGrip
If you’re looking for a no-nonsense cover for your iPhone, get a BaseGrip. Like the Pureview, the BaseGrip comes with a screen protector. It’s not glass but it will do the bare minimum when it comes to screen protection which is to prevent tiny scratches from showing up on your screen.
The standout feature of the BaseGrip is the texture of the case. Your iPhone isn’t going to slip out of your hand accidentally when it’s in a BaseGrip. Our only gripe with the case is that despite the amazing texture, it will still slide around a bit on a flat surface.
It’s a steal for 12 bucks. Get the Silk Innovation Basegrip on Amazon (CA/UK/DE) or on eBay!
#2 - Silk Innovation Pureview
The Silk Innovation Pureview sorta like a clear case with the back of the case having a design to it so it doesn’t show the back of your iPhone completely. The design still allows the color of your iPhone to pass through it but it will hide scratches and fingerprints better than the Ringke.
Silk Innovation has also incorporated air pockets into the corners of the case which help with the drop protection. The Silk Innovation Pureview however isn’t officially drop-rated. But we’re confident that the case can take a hit.
We’re generally impressed with Silk Innovation’s products. Their products are well made and affordable. One of the very few companies that we can say aren’t out to get us.
One more thing! The Silk Innovation Pureview is it comes with a screen protector. All this for 15 bucks. Get the Silk Innovation Pureview on Amazon (CA/UK/DE) or on eBay!
#3 - Ringke Fusion
The Ringke Fusion is the only clear case on this list that’s drop-rated. The fact that it’s drop-rated pushes it above the other cases in this list. We’ve given it a score of 3.9 Eh’s out of 5.
It doesn’t handle well as the sides and backs are a bit slick while the button and camera access are average and the clear back will show scratches and fingerprints easily. We did give them a tiny boost because of the included template for a custom back.
Sure it’s just a piece of paper and anybody could do it but we think it was smart for Ringke to include it as it does add more value to the case.
#4 - Patchworks Level (Rubberized)
We really enjoyed the iPhone 6 version of the Patchworks Level but the iPhone 7 and 8 version are a bit lacking. We liked the solid feel of the older Level as the newer one comes in two pieces. However, unlike most two piece cases, the Patchworks Level doesn’t add a lot of bulk to your device.
NOTE: The Patchworks Level case we rated is the darker coloured case version as it comes with a soft rubber coating that greatly enhances the handling of the case.
Also, Patchworks makes one of the best screen protectors which is the the ITG silicate glass so check that out as well. It’s pricey but it’s the only screen protector we’ve been able to use and reuse without any issues.
The last thing we’ll say is that the Patchworks Level is good, cheaper alternative to many of Spigen’s Tough series of iPhone cases.
#5 - Poetic Revolution
Poetic Revolution get’s a score of 3.9 Eh’s out of 5 from us. The Poetic Revolution has all the same handling characteristics as the Poetic Quarterback but it comes with a screen protector.
The Poetic Revolution is the toughest case on this list so if you’re on a budget and need something with a bit more protection, check out the Poetic Revolution.
If you’re looking at the Revolution as an alternative to the Otterbox Defender, the biggest difference is that the Defender is going to offer better dust protection.
#6 - Poetic Affinity
This is a personal favourite here at Mobile Reviews Eh!. We like the look and design of the Poetic Affinity. There aren’t many cases that have thin rubber strips running through the length of the clear polycarbonate. The unique design greatly improves the handling of the iPhone and the ridges along the edge of the case help with the otherwise smooth TPU.
For 12 bucks, this is a great case. BUT it still get’s an average score because it’s just a normal, iPhone case. As a rule of thumb, We keep our personal opinions out of the scoring system. Makes it easier to compare the products.
#7 - Snugg
This Snugg case surprised us. It’s a slightly above average case that reminds us a lot of the Spigen Tough armor. In fact, the general look and finish of the product is slightly better than the poorly made Cocomii Paladin case. We’ve give this Snugg case a score of 3.8 Eh’s out of 5.
The buttons on the case are decent and the soft-rubber coated back improves the grip on the back of the iPhone. It’s the grip on the back of the case that makes this a slightly above average case.
#8 - Caseology Skyfall
The Caseology Skyfall handles well. It has a raised back and doesn’t have a cutout on the back so getting the iPhone 7 version of the phone for your iPhone 8 is quite possible.
The silver part of the case is coated with a soft-rubber coating which helps with the handling of your iPhone. That silver part of the case also extends to the back which means it won’t slide around easily.
This is the best no-nonsense case to get in our opinion. It’s simple and handles well.
#9 - Poetic Quarterback
Poetic Quarterback get’s a score of 3.7 Eh’s out of 5 . It’s a below average case with the handling of the case bringing the score down. The Poetic Quarterback is quite slick and will slide around on it’s back. The slick back also doesn’t help the handling of the iPhone in the case.
The Quarterback is redeemed slightly by the edge design as it doesn’t follow the gentle curve of the iPhone. This edge slightly mitigates the slickness of the back.
And let’s face it, an iPhone case needs to handle well to ensure you don’t fling your $1000 dollar iPhone accidentally.
Get the Poetic Quarterback on Amazon (CA/UK/DE) or on eBay!
