Don’t worry about it. The Apple AirPods aren’t going anywhere!
Do the Apple AirPods fall out while you work out?
The short answer is no. And will the Apple AirPods replace our PowerBeats2? Probably. Our Apple AirPods arrived on Dec 20th and it came in a box that was much larger than the AirPods package. Syncing the wireless headphones to our iPhone was incredibly painless. To sync with a device, all you have to do is hold the AirPods to your device. Brilliant. Here’s the workout that we designed for our Apple AirPods test: – 5×5 Heavy Deadlifts – 21-15-9 Heavy Wall Balls and Pushups – 5 min AMRAP with Box Jumps, Mountain Climbers and Kettle Bell Swings – 1000m row – PVC Pipe stretching The Apple AirPods fell out once during the workout. Not during an exercise but while Aaron was taking off his warm up shirt. So technically the answer to “Do the Apple AirPods fall out while you work out?” is technically “yes” but any we’re not sure there are many headphones that would stay on while removing a shirt. The Apple AirPods did feel loose in Aaron’s ear. If you work out with the regular EarPods, you’ll know the feeling. Like the regular EarPods, the AirPods will feel loose but never fell out of an ear. They didn’t feel so loose that Aaron was compelled to keep the devices back into his ears. For running, the AirPods might fare a bit better as you don’t have the weight of the cord pulling on the earbuds.Apple AirPods vs. Powerbeats2 Wireless Headphones
So what are these like when compared to the Powerbeats 2? The Apple AirPods sound better. Yet, they don’t feel as secure as the Powerbeats 2. We don’t believe the AirPods will fall out during regular activity. However, if they do fall out, there are going to be a pain to find due to the size. Putting the Powerbeats2 wireless headphones into our ears is our biggest gripe with the Powerbeats2. This hassle is offset by the fact that the headphones are secure. But if you’re a social butterfly at the gym, this constant process of stuffing your ear into the Powerbeats2 might get annoying. If that’s the case, you’ll love the Apple AirPods. Also, if you wear glasses, the Powerbeats2 often require a small adjustment if you remove your glasses to wipe down your face during a workout. This isn’t the case for the Apple AirPods. The cable that connects the headphones also gets in the way for certain exercises. For us, it’s a 50/50 chance that exercise with the barbell will pull out one of the Powerbeats2 out of our ears. You don’ have this problem with the Apple AirPods. Our biggest gripe with the Apple AirPods is that we have to use Siri to change the volume. There are no physical buttons on the AirPods so to start/stop music or to change the volume, you’ll have to use Siri. Or through the music app or control center on your iPhone. We will admit that these are minor grievances for both products. If you already own a pair of Powerbeats, you probably shouldn’t change them out for a pair of AirPods (it would be a side grade). However, if you’re looking to get a pair of wireless headphones for general usage, than the Apple AirPods are worth looking at. Now the last thing deals with losing an AirPod. We generally didn’t feel scared of losing one since they will either be in your ear or in the charging base. The charging base is much nicer to deal with instead of the wires that come with the stock Apple EarPods. Again, do the Apple AirPods fall out while you work out? No. They might feel like they would but don’t worry, they’re are not. Have questions, concerns or comments? Leave them in the comment section below.
