Pretty impressed with the iLoome ScreenMate Screen Protector

Today we’re going to do a review of iLoome’s ScreenMate Tempered glass screen protector with iLoome Fit Hybrid slim iPhone case.
This premium screen protector is one of the few that we’ve reviewed that extends past the touchable area of the iPhone. It theoretically has 9H hardness but we’re not so sure about that and depending on how you use your iPhone, this screen protector may chip quicker than other screen protectors that extend past the touchable area.
For our iLoome Screenmate tempered glass screen protector review, we’ve given this tempered glass iPhone screen protector a score of 4.1 Eh’s out of 5. It fares well in terms of design and functionality of the iPhone under the screen protector but like most 9H screen protectors, the protection is a little overrated in our opinion. Design – Surprise! iLoome products fit well with each other
In terms design, applying this screen protector perfectly is quite easy. iLoome includes dust stickers and removing a non-cracked screen protector works. We did noticed that if you wanted a pink home button, you could apply the pink home button that they supplied (seriously? pink button with a black screen protector?)
The screen protector extends quite a ways past the touchable area which is something we really like but this feature may have an adverse effect on the wear and tear of the screen protector which we’ll elaborate in a minute. The edges of the case are actually quite strong and unlike the Mime screen protectors, fingernails won’t chip the edges.
When it comes to wear and tear, because it extends pass the edge, there is a higher chance of them chipping. Many of the screen protectors that don’t extend past the touchable area sit in a “safe zone” where the glass edge never really makes contact with anything but screen protectors like the iLoome ScreenMate that extend further out get exposed a bit more so there’s a higher chance of it breaking. In short, if you’re going case-less but want a screen protector, get one that is similar to Spigen Glass.TR.
But if you’re not, this is one of the better screen protectors to get as it covers up more of the iPhone. With the iLoome Fit Hybrid, there is almost no space between the screen protector and the edge of the case which is nice. There isn’t a small grove for dust to hangout so it makes the iPhone look a little nicer. But if you get a case that’s too tight, like the Urban Armor Gear the case is going to push the screen protector off the iPhone.

Protection – Not really 9H hardness?
In terms of protection, keys are harmless but sandpaper which is theoretically a 9H hardness material, scratches this 9H hardness screen protector.
For impact, we’re assuming that it will protect the iPhone just as well as a naked iPhone screen. We’re only assuming this drop protection because this screen protector got a little too beat up in our opinion to drop Bertha, our 200g steel ball on it.

Functionality – No dead spots!
In terms of accessing your iPhone inside the case, its perfect. There are no dead spots, it maintains the clarity of your iPhone’s touchscreen and the oleophobic coating works well on the screen protector.
Now onto the iPhone case. The Fit Hybrid works well with the Screen Mate. There’s enough of a gap that movement in the case isn’t going to push the screen protector off the iPhone. Access to the buttons is decent but in my opinion, it’s not going to be great for drops but if you’re not a total klutz, this setup will definitely provide decent protection for you iPhone on a day-to-day basis.

Would it work well with the Thule Atmos x3 case? If not what screen saver would?
