Protection – One of the thinnest yet droppable iPhone cases
In terms of protection, the Sleek version of the case is drop rated to 4 ft and has decent edges along the long side of the iPhone. The short sides of the case don’t protrude out far enough in our opinion but it will still keep the iPhone off a completely flat surface.
There are no unnecessary cutouts on the case and the edges are quite rigid so you’re not going to need to worry about dust and debris getting caught between the iPhone and case.

Functionality – Doesn’t cover up any of the good parts
In terms of accessing your iPhone inside the case, there were no issues with anything. The edges are far out enough that they get in the way of using your touchscreen, the lack of protection on the bottom of the iPhone means that you can use whatever cable/headphones you want and the cutout for the camera and flash are large enough that the Pong case will not get in the way of your photographs.
On every metallic case that we review, we’ll check to see if the case does anything with the signal strength of the iPhone. Some of the metal cases that we’ve reviewed include the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Neo, Armond case and Draco Design and from our experiences, signal degradation isn’t an issue for us (others have reported signal loss so it’s dependant on the user and environment).
For the Pong Radiation case, there is a gold antennae on the back but rather than being designed as an aesthetic feature, Pong claims that it provides cell-phone radiation protection as well as increasing the strength of your cell signal.
On the box, there are three claims which are:
– the Pong radiation case reduces exposure to harmful cell phone radiation by 89%,
– radiation is redirected away from your body increasing the transmitted signal up to 75%
– because of the increased transmitted signal, you can stay connected further from the cell tower
Does it really work?
As we mentioned earlier, our reviews are based on real usage which means that if a case manufacturer claims that does something, we’ll try our hardest to make sure that its true. In short, we tried hard but couldn’t verify the first two claims and the third claim, we tried to find dead spots at our local mall and after spending a couple of hours standing in various hallways, constantly swapping out the Pong case, we couldn’t come up with an evidence that would say that the strength of our cell signal.
Now what we did isn’t the most scientific test but based our simplistic interpretation of the feature, we we’re hoping that it would work but again, what normal individual is going to have the technology to measure cell signal strength effectively?
With all that being said, we felt that if you buy into the belief that cell-phone radiation is quite detrimental to your health, than this is the product for you. If you are looking for a slim, yet tough case, then definitely get this case as its one of the thinnest, yet toughest cases we’ve seen.
