One of the most functional iPhone cases that we’ve reviewed
Scooch Clipstic Pro Review – Just so damn useful…
Today we’re going to do a review on the Clipstic Pro by Scooch. We’ll be blunt with you, if you’re a person who just needs a really functional case, this is the one for you. The most unique feature of this case is the multi-functional kickstand and unlike other cases like the Loopy or Fly-grip, the kickstand doesn’t stick out or get in the way.
For our Scooch Clipstic Pro Review, we’ve given it a score of 4.3 Eh’s out of 5. Despite our enthuisisasm and praise for this product, we can’t give it a higher score because it is larger than most other slim cases such as the ExPro and Spigen Hybrid TECH. If you’re looking for other one-handed iPhone case solutions, check out the Loopy Vibe, Loopy case and the Fly-grip.

Design – A case with a kickstand?
In terms of design, Scooch has done a great job incorporating the kickstand into the back of the case. The first thing that came to mind when we saw the case were those wristbands that would start out straight and then you would snap them on to your wrist. Releasing the kickstand is done either by getting a finger under the end of the band or by pressing on it. It takes a bit of pressure to pop the kickstand so it’s not going to randomly pop out in your pocket.
The general shape of the case reminds me a lot of the UAG but Scooch has called their protruded corners Exo-D. Fancy! The Clipstic Pro has a metal back which is nice and we initially thought it was going to get scratched easily but the back of the case never makes contact with the surface as the kickstand keeps it propped up. We will note that the metal back on our review case now has a slight bend but we’ve only noticed this after several dozen installs in the last month. Other cases that were left on an iPhone for an extended period of time did not show this bend.
The only drawback is that the kickstand makes the case thicker than your average slim case but its not noticeable since its in the middle of the iPhone. The clever design makes the Clipstic Pro easier to deal with than the Fly-grip which portrudes out a lot.

Protection – Bigger and tougher than most cases
In terms of protection, the Clipstic pro is drop-rated to Mil Spec 810G which at the minimum will keep your iPhone safe from 4ft drops. If you use the kickstand to enhance the grip of your iPhone, there is a very small chance that your iPhone is going to slip from your hand.
The edges of the case are high enough to keep the iPhone’s screen off a flat surface, even with a glass screen protector involved. The only concern we have with the case is that when the kickstand is out, the back of the iPhone is exposed. The exposed back will also lead to a higher chance of dust/debris getting to your iPhone so removing the iPhone and cleaning the device and case is recommended.

Functionality – No issues here
In terms of functionality, this is where your iPhone shines in Scooch’s Clipstic Pro. The kickstand does enhance one-handed usage though you have to get use to wrapping one of your fingers around the kickstand but it does make the iPhone easier to use. The kickstand allows for both landscape and portrait viewing which is something the Loopy case doesn’t provide. The “Stic” part of the case is easy to use so you can quickly set up your device.
One of the neatest things about the Clipstic Pro is the ability to mount the case into a vent in your car. We were a little apprehensive at first but we haven’t had the iPhone fall out yet during normal amount of driving but we feel that this solution isn’t as stable as a semi-permanent mounted solution. But that’s just us.

Again, for our Scooch Clipstic Pro Review, we gave this iPhone 6 case a score of 4.3 Eh’s out of 5. Have questions? Please ask them on our Google+ page or our Facebook page or our About Us page.
