Need an iPhone case that you can drop from a roof? Here’s 10 that might protect your iPhone from a roof drop!
At Mobile Reviews Eh! we base everything we do on actual which means our reviews and content take FOREVER to come out. But rest assured, when we publish something, you can be confident that you will know the best and worst parts of the product.
We will be honest with you; we wouldn’t get a tough case unless you need the extreme protection (for example, dropping it from the roof of a house). The iPhone 6(s+) are resilient devices and can take a beating so a slim case should be enough for most people.

#1 – Griffin Summit
The Griffin Summit is one of Griffin’s newer iPhone 6/6 Plus cases and its a beast of a case as it’s able to withstand a 10 ft drop and is quite water resistant (we tried it with a sink filled with water). The design of the case is unique but like all extra-tough cases, there are issues with the usability of the iPhone inside of the case, but if protection is what you’re looking for, this might be the case for you.
For our Griffin Summit Review, we gave this shockproof iPhone case a score of 4 Eh’s out of 5. The Summit the highest rated tough case that we’ve come across.

#2 – Ballistic Hardcore
Ballistic markets this as a super-tough iPhone 6 case and we totally agree. What’s the most surprising to us is how well built this case feels. We’ve reviewed other Ballistic cases and we’re weren’t too happy with the build quality.
The best part of the Hardcore is the access it provides for your iPhone. The buttons work, the gap between the screen protector and the iPhone isn’t terribly noticeable, and the outer shell is removable so you can tailor the amount of protection you need.
Based on our time with the case, we gave the Ballistic Hardcore a score of 4 Eh’s out of 5. This case fares much better than the Otterbox Defender and Griffin Survivor. Get it now on Amazon.

#3 – Amzer Crusta
How tough is an iPhone case made out of glass? Well, if it is the Amzer Crusta, then it’s going to be a pretty tough case. Now we’ll be honest with you; we’re a little torn about this case as we’ve become very fond of the Crusta but there are some issues with the case that lowers the score for the Amzer Crusta down.
The best part of this Crusta is the tempered glass back and the edge-to-edge, Kristal tempered screen protector. These glass elements make it a joy to use your iPhone inside the case. It’s a case that exposes the full beauty of your iPhone without actually sacrificing protection. The thing that annoys us about the case is the TPU bumper. It comes off quite easily and after a week of using this case, it seems to show its wear and tear a little quicker than other cases.
For our Amzer Crusta review, we gave it a score of 3.8’ Eh’s out of 5. We’ve seen several complaints regarding Amzer’s customer service so just be careful. If that’s not a concern for you, see if there’s a color you like on Amazon.

#4 – Griffin Survivor All-Terrain
The Griffin Survivor All-Terrain is an affordable iPhone 6 case. Griffin has done a great job updating their Survivor for the iPhone 6 as they’ve removed the camera flap and replaced it with a built-in camera cover. The Griffin Survivor provides excellent access to your iPhone 6. You can easily use your iPhone 6 in the Survivor without exposing your iPhone as the Touch ID and speakers are all covered up.
We do have an issue with the screen protector as it diffuses the Retina HD screen of the iPhone 6 and the updated camera cover does something to the quality of the photos.
For our Griffin Survivor All-Terrain review, we give it a score of 3.8 Eh’s out of 5. Get it now on Amazon!

#5 – Case-Mate Tough Extreme
We consider the Case-Mate Tough Extreme a tough case mostly because the word “tough” is in the product name. We got our Case-Mate case from Zazzle.com, which allows you to customize the case, so we decided to put our logo on it. In our opinion, this makes this case super awesome but once we applied our Eh! Rating system, we realized this case isn’t awesome and has a couple of shortcomings.
On the Tough Extreme, there is almost no chance this case is going to fall accidentally out of your hand because of its design; it’s a little thinner than other tough cases, but the screen viewability and usability of your iPhone 6 is going to suffer quite a bit in this case.
For our Case-Mate Tough Extreme review, we gave it a score of 3.7 Eh’s out of 5. See if there’s a version on Amazon.

#6 – Trident Kraken
We haven’t officially reviewed the Trident Kraken but we’ve been using it for a while now (almost a year now), and it is a decent tough case. The iPhone sits in a thick polycarbonate shell and is secured by snapping the screen protector into the shell.
The Kraken comes with a belt holster that works, but we did find that taking the Kraken out of the holster would sometimes split the case apart. It’s a mild nuisance but something that’s worth noting.
For our Trident Kraken review, we gave this tough iPhone case a score of 3.7 Eh’s out of 5. Get it now on Amazon.

#7 – ZeroLemon Protector
Zero’s and lemons? The ZeroLemon Protector is a tough case that’s 20 bucks and we personally like it better than the Otterbox Defender. With that being said getting to your iPhone’s hardware ports is mind-numblingly frustrating and the screen protector is a little lacking.
The only way we’d recommend this case is that if you only had 20 bucks to spend and you wanted something relatively tough to protect your iPhone. With that being said, we’d question your decision-making paradigm in only deciding to spend only $20 to protect your $800+ device but if $20’s all you got, we’d get the Protector.
For our ZeroLemon Protector review, we’ve given this case a score of 3.6 Eh’s out of 5. Think Amazon has it cheaper than $20?

#8 – Otterbox Defender
The Otterbox Defender could be considered a staple, maybe even iconic item when it comes to cases that protect your iPhone. For the iPhone 6, the design of the Otterbox Defender remains largely unchanged to the design of the Defender for the iPhone 5 and 5S.
During our testing period for the iPhone 6 Otterbox Defender Review, we discovered a couple of issues with accessing your iPhone inside the case, it bulky but offers decent access to your iPhone when it’s installed in the case. We’ve been told that the newer versions of the case are much better. The Defender does cost more than the average case.
For our Otterbox Defender review, we gave this case a score of 3.4 Eh’s out of 5. Get it now on Amazon!

#9 – Pelican Voyager
The Pelican Voyager is a slimmer tough case for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus that comes with a belt holster. We like how grippy the case is as it’s going to have a hard time sliding off any flat surface. Pelican’s warranty on the case is pretty awesome, and the belt holster is decent and has a nice kickstand feature to it but getting to your actual iPhone is going to be a little tougher.
The Voyager is drop-rated, but Pelican doesn’t give a specific height from which an iPhone can be dropped from.
For our Pelican Voyager review, we gave it a score of 3.4 Eh’s out of 5. Click here to see if Amazon has any in stock!

#10 – Tech 21 Patriot
The Tech 21 Patriot is an extremely tough iPhone case that theoretically protects your iPhone from 13 ft drops. Yes, 13 ft drops. We actually took the time to drop an iPhone inside the Tech 21 Patriot from 13 ft in our review video. Did it survive? Well…
The Patriot is not a small case but does feel well built. The texture of the case is nice, and it offers great access to all the hardware features of the iPhone except the screen which we’ve found to be as sensitive as somebody who is emotionally dead on the inside on Tuesdays and Thursday.
For our Tech 21 Patriot review, we’ve given the case a score of 3.4 Eh’s out 5. Amazon it!

I’d go with the dog & bone case. Slimmer.
