Do you really need a waterproof case for the iPhone 7? The iPhone 7 is rated to IP67 which dust proof and water resistant. NOT WATERPROOF. The iPhone 7 will be fine in accidental drops in sinks/toilet bowls but it won’t do much for the iPhone during a swim in the ocean. Basically if you’re planning on using your iPhone 7 near a body of water, it’s still a good idea to get a waterproof case.
For the average person, a LifeProof Fre (that you can pick up from any store) will suffice for most people. The Ghostek Atomic 3.0 scores higher due to the added versatility of being compatible with skins and screen protectors.

We take a lot of time to review these waterproof iPhone cases. We understand that it is important to know that your $1000 dollar iPhone 7 is well protected against the elements. We’re big fans of using our iPhones as underwater camera’s and these waterproof cases will allow us to do that. We will note that as a generality, you’ll find waterproof cases for the iPhone 7 but not the iPhone 7 Plus. We’re not sure why but that’s what we’ve noticed.
At Mobile Reviews Eh!, we base our reviews on real usage. We try to rate all iPhone case reviews in the same manner so that when we say case X is better than Y, you can take that to the bank. Each waterproof iPhone 7 case review will take over 10 hours to complete. We sacrifice our own iPhones as well. We do all this to ensure that we catch every detail before publishing our iPhone case reviews. Find out what we think are the “Best iPhone 7 cases” here.

Hi, How come you didn’t do a review of the HITCASE shield Ultra for the Iphone 7, I noticed it was your top rated for the Iphone 6. I was going to buy it for my Iphone 7, but wondering if you still think its the best?
Thanks!

Hi Aaron!
Great site and love the in-depth reviews!
I am struggling to find a iPhone 7 waterproof case that not only allows me to use a screen protector with the case but has the capability of using a lanyard. The Ghostek Atomic 3.0 would be fine but no hole for a lanyard. Any thoughts?
I would really like the Catalyst Waterproof or the Dog & Bone Wetsuit Impact but they say to remove screen protector first. My screen protector is by Belkin, its not thick, but I do not want to be removing screen protector each time to place phone in waterproof case, do you think it would be OK to keep screen protector on with Catalyst or the Dog & Bone?
Thanks!!

you might be able to use it a HitCase Pro with a screen protector with the iPhone 7. I’ve got one right now and it has the same design as the Atomic. Review is coming soon!

Hey Aaron, great review on the HitCase Pro for iPhone 7. You do put in a lot of hours per case. The HitCase Pro is very impressive!! Did you manage to try the case with a screen protector on the iPhone before snapping on the “super secret” Shock Seal. If it takes one I’m sold!

Their durability on the catalyst case is questionable and the company does not stand behind the warranty that they print with the phone. The plastic on Mine cracked and tore and they wouldn’t replace it. The express written warranty says that for a year they’ll take care of any materials or workmanship defects, but all they would offer was 50% off the purchase price of a new case.
